Safe Homecoming Sharing Hope, Pupuk Kaltim Facilitates 372 Travelers via Land Route
PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (Pupuk Kaltim) officially sent off hundreds of homecoming participants from Bontang via land route, in the Safe Homecoming Sharing Hope program, Wednesday (18/3/2026). This program was internalized with the theme 'Comfortable Homecoming with Pupuk Indonesia', which was carried out simultaneously by all companies within the Pupuk Indonesia Group in their respective operational base areas.
Pupuk Kaltim Risk Management Director Teguh Ismartono stated that Safe Homecoming Sharing Hope is one of the Company's forms of benefit, in accordance with BP BUMN's directives in welcoming Eid al-Fitr, by providing safe and comfortable transportation facilities free of charge for travelers returning to their hometowns.
This is part of a joint effort to create a more orderly homecoming flow, while simultaneously easing congestion and reducing the potential for road accidents. This program is also Pupuk Kaltim's effort to minimize carbon emissions, as well as the environmental impact of excessive transportation activities ahead of Eid al-Fitr, in accordance with the company's commitment to the principles of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG).
"Homecoming is one of the most anticipated moments ahead of Eid al-Fitr. Therefore, Pupuk Kaltim plays a role in realizing this, while also ensuring that SOEs are present to serve the community on major religious holidays,” said Teguh, shortly before the homecoming send-off at Pupuk Kaltim Sports Hall.
Teguh explained that this year Pupuk Kaltim provides five free homecoming routes via land. Namely Bontang – Samarinda, Bontang – Balikpapan, Bontang – Banjarmasin, as well as connecting routes from Samarinda and Balikpapan to Banjarmasin. To accommodate these routes, Pupuk Kaltim provides 10 bus fleets, with a total of 372 homecoming participants.
In addition to free transportation, Pupuk Kaltim also equips travelers with various necessities such as t-shirts, hats, food, and drinks, so that they can enjoy comfort during their journey. All fleets used have been ensured to be roadworthy, supported by experienced drivers and thorough technical coordination with Polda Kaltim for road safety.
"With shared transportation, people can carry out their homecoming journey more safely, comfortably, and securely. Thus, we can well anticipate the fatigue or lack of readiness of the community during the homecoming flow," explained Teguh.
He also ensured that Pupuk Kaltim will continue to strive to maintain its usefulness in Bontang City and East Kalimantan. This spirit is the company's foundation to continue presenting social programs that have a positive impact, as part of efforts to strengthen togetherness with the community.
“We hope this program brings benefits and goodness to the community. Happy homecoming, may you always be given health, blessed with safety, and be able to gather with family in your hometown,” added Teguh.
Bontang Mayor Neni Moerniaeni appreciated Pupuk Kaltim's continuous commitment and care in providing free homecoming services for the community, as a direct benefit in welcoming Eid al-Fitr 1447 H. This free homecoming service is considered effective in unraveling potential congestion and land travel risks for travelers, so that people can arrive in their hometowns safely and comfortably.
“Thank you to Pupuk Kaltim for providing free homecoming services to the community every year. For the travelers, we urge you to always maintain order during the journey until your destination. Happy Eid and greetings to your family in your hometown,” said Neni.
One of the homecoming participants, Umi Fatimah, a resident of Belimbing Village, West Bontang, expressed her gratitude for being able to participate in Pupuk Kaltim's free homecoming program this year. The private kindergarten teacher in Bontang City stated that this annual company program is very helpful amidst the high travel costs ahead of Eid, with registration and requirements that are considered very easy.
"I registered online, and this is my first experience participating in Pupuk Kaltim's homecoming program. Last year I actually wanted to join but was late to register, so it finally came true this year," said Umi.
Muhammad Husain, a traveler heading to Banjarmasin who also brought his wife and children to his hometown this year, expressed a similar sentiment. The man from Loktuan Village, North Bontang, stated that he regularly registers every year, so he can celebrate Eid with his extended family in South Kalimantan.
"This is my third year participating and I really feel the benefits. Thank you Pupuk Kaltim, hopefully next year there will be another homecoming program because it helps us a lot," said Husain.(*)
